TRAINING: 6:30-8:30 a.m. Weight Training. 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Jiu-jitsu.
8:00-9:30 p.m. Grappling and standup
When and why did you start training for fighting? I began fighting in April 2006 on a dare at an amateur show. I walked out of the crowd and fought. I started training full time in June 2006. I love all aspects of the sport, training, camaraderie and competing.
What ranks and titles have you held? EFX 185 Champion (organization currently defunct) USA Warrior Champion (Both MN organizations)
Do you have any heroes? I admire my mom and dad as well as successful and respectful individuals.
What is your favorite technique? Choking someone out
What does it mean for you to fight in the WEC? A lot, it is what I have been putting all the time in for, it has been a goal since I started training MMA.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? St. Cloud State University; BA, Urban Affairs
What was your job before you started fighting? Still have the job—Realtor and volunteer assistant wrestling coach at St. Cloud State University
How has your training changed since coming into the WEC? It hasn’t. I always train hard.
What is it like to fight on live TV in the WEC? This will be my first WEC fight— I am looking forward to it.
How have the stakes changed now that you’re with the WEC? This is my chance to push my skills to the next level both physically and mentally.
How has the competition level changed since joining the WEC? I am sure it will be another level, which is what I am looking forward to.
