Biographie

TRAINING: Tired

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training because I loved martial arts and the competitive aspect of it.

What ranks and titles have you held? None

Do you have any heroes? No

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means everything to be fighting for the biggest promotion in the world. It shows that if you work hard, dreams do come true

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I went to Golden West College and to Cal State Fullerton. I was studying for my business marketing degree

What was your job before you started fighting? I only worked for my parents at their liquor store in Santa Ana as a kid growing up.

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? I took second at the So Cal Golden Gloves in Amateur Boxing and second at the jiu-jitsu Pan Americans in 2003

Ranks in any martial arts styles: Black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and karate

Favorite grappling technique: sweeps

•    Team Koscheck member on TUF12

•    Was 2-2 in four fights leading up to TUF12

•    Competed in Sengoku featherweight Grand Prix, going 1-1

•    Pro since 2001

•    Has faced Rob McCullough, Josh Thomson, Gesias Cavalcante, and Michihiro Omigawa

•    Seven wins by knockout, five by submission

•    Loss to Garcia was one of the most controversial of 2010. It was also awarded Fight of the Night honors. Won Fight of the Night honors for rematch win over Garcia
