Biographie

TRAINING: A typical day of training for me starts with early morning strength and conditioning with Loren Landow at Landow Performance. After that, I usually do a 30-minute run or a padwork session in the afternoon followed by team practice of either striking, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, judo or sparring six days a week.

When and why did you start training for fighting? My older brother Chris actually introduced me to MMA. I played lots of different sports growing up, from football to wrestling and rugby, and admittedly wasn’t ever really very good at any of them. Chris had been training and told me I should join the gym with him. I tried it and fell in love. He paid for my training in the beginning and after I graduated high school I devoted myself to training full-time.

What ranks and titles have you held? I am a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and have trained Muay Thai for many years. Before signing to the UFC I was the RFA Welterweight Champion and also was the Sparta Combat League Welterweight Champion.

Do you have any heroes? One of my biggest heroes would be my brother, UFC middleweight Chris Camozzi. Watching him train and work to get where he has really helped shape my work ethic over the years and kept me on the focused path to get where I am. Without him I can confidently say I wouldn't be where I am today.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? Fighting in the UFC is truly a dream come true. When I began fighting, I looked up to my brother Chris and saw what he has done and where he has been able to go to make a career in this sport. I have been working hard for this moment and am looking forward to making a statement and having a long career in the best organization in the world.
