Thoughts on opponent, Anthony Smith? I have been working my butt off during this year. Smith is a very good fighter, so it's going to be a good challenge for me on July 8, but I can guarantee he will face the best Cezar Mutante. I will get there in shape, with sharp technique, and ready to beat anybody in my weight division, not just him.
TRAINING: We have been training a lot of techniques during this training camp, so this means I have a large arsenal of weapons to use in this fight and he has to be ready. Otherwise, he is going to pay the price.
When and why did you start training to become a fighter? I started training in Belo Horizonte with Vitor Belfort because it was my dream since I was a little kid.
What ranks and titles have you held? TUF Brazil 1 winner, Capoeira Master, BJJ black belt
Do you have any heroes? Ayrton Senna, Randy Couture and Vitor Belfort
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It is a dream coming true. I believe everything you go after you can conquer. So always in my career I started to see myself in the UFC, and so it happened.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I was at the college studying to become a physiologist but I had to leave to chase my dream to become a professional fighter.
What was your job before you started fighting? I had many jobs - my last one was as a personal trainer
Favorite grappling technique: Armbar
Favorite striking technique: Any one that can end the fight.
