Biographie

When and why did you start training for fighting?  I started fighting back in 2008, two weeks after I had my son, and I did it simply because someone said that I couldn't do it and it took off from there.

What ranks and titles have you held? 125-pound Gladiators Challenge champ in 2009.

Do you have any heroes?  My hero is my late grandmother. She taught me to never use the words “I can't do it.” She taught me everyone has their own road and it's up to you how you're going to get through it. You may fall time and time again, so cry and get angry, but you get up and never stop trying. She was the most loving, strong, independent, stubborn, hard working, unapologetic, take me for who I am, old school Latina who I call my hero.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? Having the opportunity to fight for the UFC just shows that with hard work and belief in yourself you can accomplish anything in life.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Liberal studies / Special Education

What was your job before you started fighting? I was a Director of Financial Aid for schools
If any, list specific accomplishments in pro competition?
As a pro I was (along with my opponent) part of the first female pro MMA fight to ever be allowed to take place in Mexico.
