The UFC's first visit to Ottawa on June 18 has received another jolt of high-level welterweight action, as Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone faces surging Canadian veteran Patrick Cote in UFC Fight Night action.
In the main event, Rory MacDonald faces Stephen Thompson in a clash of top 170-pound contenders.
A longtime lightweight standout, Cerrone moved to the welterweight division in February and promptly dispatched Alex Oliveira via first-round submission, making it 9-1 over his last 10 fights. In Cote, Cerrone faces a fighter who has rejuvenated his career at 170 pounds, winning five of his six bouts in his new weight class, including three in a row.
