Condit Comeback Begins Against Alves in May

Returning to the Octagon for the first time since suffering a knee injury against Tyron Woodley in March of 2014, former interim UFC welterweight champion Carlos Condit will face off against fellow 170-pound slugger Thiago “Pitbull” Alves in the five-round main event of UFC Fight Night on May 30 in Goiania, Brazil.

UFC President Dana White made the announcement in Rio de Janeiro Friday.

Winner of Fight of the Night honors in three of his last four bouts, Albuquerque’s Condit is one of the sport’s premier action heroes, and he will have just the right dance partner in Brazil native Alves, winner of two straight over Seth Baczynski and Jordan Mein that both earned him performance bonuses. As even more incentive, the bout will mark Alves’ first in Brazil since 2003.

Also announced by White was the finale card for The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 4, which will take place at a location in Brazil to be determined on Saturday, June 27. A main event for this card will also be announced at a later date. TUF Brazil 4 premieres on Sunday, April 5.
